Sex Shame
Midweek Sun - Wednesday 6th 2006 Two girls were caught having sex in public. “That was really shocking and what I saw was embarrassing. I first saw the two ladies having sex when I went to the toilet to urinate. The pit-latrine door was not closed and after hearing strange sounds from inside I saw the two ladies naked and one on top of the other. I called other people and we watched the two having sex for about 30 minutes. We tried to stop them but they were violent and continued having sex. That was really disgusting to say the least” said one man who found them.
A lesbian couple shocked residents of Somerset Extension in Francistown on Sunday afternoon when they undressed and had sex in full view of members of the public. Having downed a few drinks at a popular local drinking spot, the middle-aged women took it all off and got down to a sexual performance in an open toilet. A huge crowd gathered to witness the naked ladies as they twisted and groaned on top of each other in erotic feelings in front of shocked onlookers.
“What the people saw was as shocking as it was embarrassing. This is madness. I first saw the two ladies having sex when I went to the toilet to urinate”, said a disgusted eyewitness who said the pit latrine door was not closed, allowing him to hear strange sounds from inside the toilet.
When a Ghetto Metro team arrived on scene, a crowd of young children and neighbors were watching the couple in each other’s arms and expressing their love. At the same time they continued trading insults with shocked onlookers. The couple refused to talk to this reporter about the sexual escapades. Said one of them known to this reporter. ”a ko le tsweng mo go rona. Nna le monna wame re ne re dira ditiro tsa rona. Gape ga se phoso” (just leave us alone. We were only doing our thing)”. Her ‘man’ was not prepared to talk either, but an eyewitness said, “I am lost for words. What I saw today is really shocking and it has confirmed that homosexuality or lesbianism really exists. This is a serious disease that our society needs to fight. While I knew that there are some people like that, I have never seen them having sex until today. This has really disturbed me. Le bojalwa bo a pala”, said Tshiamo Modimo, an eyewitness.
Another witness said while she is not against homosexual, the concerned ladies could have expressed their feelings in privacy. “I don’t think the two were drunk, I think they were being irresponsible. To make matters worse children were also exposed to the incident. Who knows what this will do to them,” said one lady who identified herself as Lebo. The owner of the shebeen where the incident occurred also declined to talk to this newspaper. Some people vowed that they were going to report the matter to the police.
However by Monday afternoon Senior Superintendent Alakalani Makobo of Kutlwano Police said his office had not received a report about the incident. He said if people reported to their office with information they can still launch an investigation.
A senior police told Ghetto Metro that according to Botswna laws the two ladies might be charged with common nuisance, saying it is unnatural for two women to have sex with each other.
Gays have no place in society
Midweek Sun Newspaper Wednesday 29 Nov 2006 I am responding to a question in The Midweek Sun on whether our laws should recognize gays. I am appealing to our lawmakers to save our country on this one. Our country should not be lawless because of the so-called human rights. I am saying this because many a time people refer to their rights forgetting that there is a limit to everyone’s enjoyment of rights.
Recognizing gays will be opening up floodgates of social disorder. It is also a clear sign that our values are undermined and that we promote immoral laws; laws that go against the laws of God. We are constantly leading our country to hell. Moral values originate from nature. God created man and woman and instructed them to multiply. This is the main purpose of marriage. Let us be wise and not be misled by what is happening in other countries. Blessed is the nation whose Lord is God. We need Jesus Christ as the foundation of our laws. Motlhanka Judah Moremedi
Let gays be
Gays are denied their right to freedom. We should understand their feelings and accept the fact that they do exist and are also entitled to happiness like everyone else. We are not supposed to judge one another. No one has the authority to pass judgment on another person because in God’s eyes we are all equal.
There will be judgment day and God will only pass the judgment and will state exactly who is right and who is wrong. As at now we are all sinners.
